Owner & Principal Engineer/Surveyor
Lonnie Sheldon

Lonnie, Owner and Principal Engineer and Surveyor, is a
Colorado native, born in Ft. Morgan and raised in
Loveland.  He purchased the business from Bill Van Horn
in 2003 after working for Bill for five years.  He is both a
registered Engineer and Surveyor in Colorado.  Lonnie is
married to Andrea (1984) and they have three children
Jon (1994), Kelly (1996) and Gwen (2000).  His favorite
activities include fishing, biking, and swimming.
Licensed Engineer (structural, drainage)
John Spooner

John, Structural and Civil Engineer, was born in Wisconsin.  
He graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a Ph.D.
in Civil Engineering and is a registered Engineer in
Colorado.  He has over 45 years of experience and when not
“engineering” he and his wife Sue enjoy driving their
collection of British sports cars.
Licensed Engineer/Project Manager
Amy Plummer

Amy, registered Engineer and Project Manager, is a Colorado
native.  She grew up in Lakewood and is the daughter of an
engineer and a math teacher.  While obtaining her degree in
Civil Engineering at University of Colorado - Boulder, she met
her husband, Todd, in a surveying class.  She interned at Van
Horn Engineering & Surveying as part of the field crew in
1979 and has worked off and on since that time while raising
a daughter, Emily, and a son, Tim.  She now enjoys the
rewards of working personally with clients as a project
manager.  During her off hours, she loves to run, garden and

Joe Coop

Joe, Project Manager, is a native of the New York City suburbs but preferred the tranquil
majestic beauty of the American West.  He graduated from Trinity University in San Antonio,
Texas with an Engineering Science degree.  He moved to Northern Colorado after
graduation and has worked for Van Horn Engineering & Surveying since 1998.  He is
married to Janelle with whom he has two beautiful daughters, Jana and Chloe.  In his
spare time he enjoys time with his kids and golfing.
Project Manager
Celine LeBeau

Celine, Project Manager, has called
Colorado home for almost 20 years.  She
graduated from the University of Colorado -
Boulder in Environmental, Population and
Organismic Biology.  She lives in Estes Park
with her husband, adorable daughter, cat,
and nine chickens.  Her hobbies include
skiing, traveling, cooking, gardening, hiking,
camping, and biking.

Tom Bergman

Tom, Project Manager, was raised in Montana and has a Bachelor of
Science Degree in Civil Engineering from North Dakota State University.  
A former wilderness canoing guide, he married his Bible Camp
sweetheart, Alyssa, in 2005.  His favorite activities include back country
adventures, cycling, and camping.

Dave Bangs

Dave, Project Manager, was born and raised in Estes Park.  After
graduating from Colorado State University in 2009 with a
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, he moved back to Estes
Park to pursue his career in engineering and to live in the
mountains.  Dave spends his free time hiking, backpacking, and
snowboarding in Rocky Mountain National Park.
Office Manager and Bookkeeper
Karen Muchmore (with Aki)

Karen, Office Manager, found her niche in the office environment when she
turned on her first computer in 1994 in the office of a small car wash in
Memphis, TN.  Since that time, she has managed offices both large and
small and now happily calls Van Horn Engineering her extended family.  
When she is not keeping the office organized and running efficiently, she
enjoys spending time with her husband Ed, cooking, and taking long hikes
with her dogs.

Aki is the gentle greeter of the office.  Most days she can be found chilling in
front of the door or enjoying the elk viewing off the back deck.  She enjoys,
snow, long walks and the company of her big brother, Jax.
Bill Van Horn

Bill, licensed Engineer and Surveyor,  was born and
raised in Estes Park.  He took over the firm from his
father Paul Van Horn in the 70's.  He sold the
business in 2003, but remains an active consultant.  
His knowledge and experience is an invaluable tool.
Office Dog

Lakota was found wandering the reservations of South
Dakota.  She found her forever home with the Sheldon family
and quickly became a quiet but vital member of the staff.  Her
hobbies include wandering the project sites and sleeping
under Lonnie's desk.  She is a connoisseur of poultry.
